Ezy software running slow or hanging

Question

Why is Ezy software running slow or hanging after

  • upgrading or installing anti-virus software

  • installing/upgrading to Pro SQL version.

Answer

The installation and configuration of anti-virus software at either the server or client workstation or both will have a significant impact on Ezy software performance.

Most anti-virus software will install with a default setting to check ALL files that are accessed by the computer.

This affects software performance as there are sometimes hundreds of files being downloaded and accessed at any one time.

Solution

PRO SQL Version

Configure your anti-virus software to exclude the EZY folder and SQL.

FoxPro 'old' Version

Configure your anti-virus software to exclude certain file types from being scanned. The following file types may be safely excluded from scanning:
*.DBF
*.CDX
*.FXP
*.DBC

Please note that none of these file types have been known to carry or become infected by viruses.
