Winery management software developer Ezy Systems recently incorporated powerful report writers into its popular EzyWine package so that users can easily produce customised reports that meet requirements.

The report writers in the financial, stock vintage, cellar, bottling and vineyard modules allow users to specify what data is required and how it is to be displayed. Different font types and sizes, colours ,logos, images, water marks, shadings and formulas can easily be incorporated.
The customised reports can be grouped so that many reports can be printed at the same time; this feature is particularly useful when producing end-of-month reports for management and board meetings.
Users can also specify which customised reports users can access and sales reps can be restricted to sales information (ie customers) that is relevant to them. The sales report writer also allows sales and marketing staff to easily target customers based on sales history in regards to producing a customer file for emailing or mail merging in MS Word to do a mailout.
There is also a stationery report writer which allows the user to produce customised stationery such as sales invoices, vineyard worksheets, purchase orders, pay slips, remittance advices and statements, removing the need to purchase preprinted stationery. Dockets that incorporate logos project a professional company image to customers and suppliers.
“Although EzyWine has thousands of standard reports and many report writers there will always be a few users that prefer to use Microsoft Excel to produce reports,” said Ezy Systems director, Nick Cugura.
To assist these users with MS Excel reporting, export options throughout EzyWine allow users to produce csv, spreadsheet and database files that can then be easily imported into MS Excel. The most important benefit to these export options is that it ensures that reports produced in MS Excel are based on actual EzyWine data. “When utilising Pivot Tables or Pivot Graphs in MS Excel, you can drill down on a cell, pie graph or chart to reveal the actual EzyWine data or transactions that make-up each value,” he said.
“The report writers have been extremely popular with the users and management at most of the 250 wineries using EzyWine. The users have developed many customised reports that specifically meet their requirements and they no longer use any third party reporting tools,” Cugura said.
